The 2020 Precedent: A Dress Rehearsal
“Watch out for election fraud… Without election fraud, we
win easily.” This statement, made in 2024, sums up Trump’s entire strategy
. In 2020, he tried to overturn the results. In
2024, he succeeded in having the charges against him dismissed. In 2026,
he is laying the groundwork to contest the results in advance.
The message is
clear: if Trump loses, it won’t be because Americans rejected
him, but because the system will have been “corrupted.”
The
FBI raids in Georgia, the purges of “disloyal”
civil servants, the threats against universities—everything is being done to
intimidate, discredit, and ultimately control.
And yet, the polls are unequivocal: Trump is at an all-time low.
So why this obsession with the midterm elections
? Because a defeat in 2026 would mean the end of his reign even before
2028
. He cannot afford to lose. Not this
time.
America has become a country where the sitting president can
say, in all seriousness, that his opponents are “rigging” the elections before
they’ve even taken place. And no one seems able
to stop him.
Redistricting: The Republicans’ Secret Weapon
In Texas, Florida, and Georgia, electoral maps are
being redrawn to favor Republicans.
An
American’s vote is no longer worth what it used to be: it all depends on which state they
live in—and the political leanings of those drawing the
boundaries. Democrats are gaining seats in Virginia and
New Jersey, but losing ground in the Midwest.
The
2027 Congress will not reflect the will of the people, but rather the map
of political manipulation.
THE SHADOW OF AUTHORITARIANISM: WHEN THE SAFEGUARDS FAIL
A Tyrant-in-Training in the White House
“The constitutional mechanisms established in 1787 no longer hold
up.” These words, written in Le Devoir
, sound like a
death knell. Trump rejects the rules of the game, questions the legitimacy of
his opponents, tolerates violence, and attacks civil
liberties.
We are no longer living in a democracy, but in a
regime where power is maintained through fear and force
. The
pardon granted to Tina Peters, convicted of allowing tampering
with voting machines, is proof of this:
fraudsters
are rewarded, while whistleblowers are punished
.
And yet, the checks and balances remain silent. Judges
appointed by Trump uphold his executive orders. Congress, divided, is
unable to act.
Who will stop the man who believes himself to be above the
law?
History will judge us not by what we knew, but by
what we dared to do. Today, we know. Tomorrow, it will be
too late.
ICE at the Polls: When Immigration Becomes an Electoral Tool
Persistent rumors suggest that ICE agents
will be
stationed near polling places in 2026.
The goal? To intimidate voters
of immigrant background—the very voters who swung
Georgia in 2020
. Trump said it himself: “My supporters
should do something.” ” But what exactly will they do?
Will people be forced to vote under threat?
THE 2026 TRAP: AN ELECTION WITH NO WAY OUT
The Worst-Case Scenario: A Constitutional Crisis
Imagine November 4, 2026. The results are close. Trump cries
fraud. His supporters take to the streets. Republican governors
refuse to certify Democratic victories.
The country descends into chaos, and no one has a
plan
. Experts say it:
the United States is
not prepared for a crisis of this magnitude
. Safeguards have
been dismantled. Institutions are weakened.
And Trump,
for his part, is ready
.
And yet, no one seems to want to see the storm coming. Democrats
are still hoping for a victory at the polls. Moderate Republicans
are turning a blind eye.
But a stolen election isn’t won
at the polls. It’s won in the streets, in the courts, and
in blood
.
We are at a crossroads: either we accept that democracy
is an illusion, or we fight for it. But time
is running out.
The role of the media: accomplices or resisters?
News channels are spreading his lies. Social
media is amplifying his theories.
The disinformation
machine is running at full speed
. And meanwhile, thousands
of Americans firmly believe that 20 million votes were “
stolen” in 2020.
How can you vote when you no longer believe in anything
?
VENEZUELA: THE TACTICAL DIVERSION
Why Trump Needs a War
As America tears itself apart, Trump launches a
military
operation in Venezuela.
Cost: $3 billion. Result:
more than 100 dead, a country in ruins, and a perfect distraction
. While the media focuses on Maduro, Trump
redraws congressional districts. While the world condemns the
strikes, he prepares his executive order on the elections.
War is the best ally of a man who wants to avoid
talking about democracy. And Trump knows it.
A war abroad to mask a war against democracy
at home. History repeats itself, but this time,
no one seems to care.
Venezuelan oil money: the hidden source of campaign funding
The strikes in Venezuela are not just a military
operation. They are an electoral operation
. Trump
promises to “take control” of Venezuelan oil.
With
that money, he will fund his electoral war machine
. The
Democrats are crying foul, but the facts are clear:
America is paying, in lives and dollars, to keep
Trump in power
.
THE DEMOCRATS FACING POWERLESSNESS
A Divided and Powerless Opposition
The Democrats are winning local elections, but losing the
war of ideas.
They have no answer to Trump’s rhetoric
. They rely on the ballot box, but Trump relies on
fear. They talk about policies; he talks about conspiracies.
And
in this uneven contest, fear always wins.
And yet, there are signs of hope. In Texas, a Democrat
won a Senate seat. In Virginia, a progressive governor
was elected.
But will these victories be enough against the
Trump machine?
The Democrats have won battles. But they’re
losing the war. Because Trump doesn’t play by the same
rules.
Europe in the Crosshairs
Trump isn’t content with just threatening America. He’s threatening Europe.
He supports Orbán in Hungary. He funds far-right parties.
His goal? To create an authoritarian front stretching from the Atlantic to
the Urals
. And Europe, divided, doesn’t know how
to respond.
THE ROLE OF CITIZENS: THE LAST LINE OF DEFENSE
The power of the ballot box… if it’s still there
In 2026, every vote will count. But every vote will need to be protected.
Citizens must become the guardians of democracy
. Monitor the polling places. Demand
transparency. Reject intimidation.
Because if Trump
wins, it won’t be an electoral defeat. It will be the end of democracy
.
And yet, too many Americans still believe that “it won’t
happen.” But it is happening. Right now.
Democracy does not die in the dark. It dies in
indifference.
Lessons from history
Germany in the 1930s. Mussolini’s Italy. Franco’s
Spain.
All these regimes emerged from democracies that
believed themselves to be invincible
. America is no different.
If we do nothing, we will be next
.
THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY: BYSTANDER OR ACTOR?
The Complicit Silence of the Allies
Europe watches in horror, but does nothing. Canada condemns,
but takes no action.
The whole world sees what’s happening, but
no one intervenes. Because Trump is too powerful.
Because America is too important.
Because no
one wants to be next.
And yet, history will also judge those who looked the other way.
We are all Americans now. Because if democracy
dies there, it can die anywhere.
The Trap of Normalization
The longer Trump stays in power, the more his excesses become “normal.”
An executive order to overturn an election? Normal. An illegal war
? Normal. Political purges? Normal
.
We’re getting used to the unacceptable
. And that’s the
real danger.
2028: THE POINT OF NO RETURN
If Trump wins in 2026, he’ll win in 2028
The midterm elections are just one step.
The real
stakes are in 2028
. If Trump controls Congress, he’ll
control the rules of the game. He’ll control Supreme Court appointments
.
He’ll control America
. And this time, he
won’t let go.
And yet, no one seems to grasp the urgency.
We’re
a year away from the precipice. And we’re walking toward it with our eyes
closed.
2026 isn’t an election. It’s a final reprieve. After that, it
will be too late.
The Resistance Scenario
There is still a glimmer of hope: resistance. Judges who
resist. Journalists who investigate. Citizens who
protest.
But this resistance needs all of us
. Because when it comes to Trump, there are no spectators. There
are only fighters.
CONCLUSION: AMERICA AT A CROSSROADS
The Choice That Defines Us
America has always been a country of contrasts. Of freedom and
oppression. Of democracy and tyranny.
But never in
its history has it been so close to the abyss
. Trump
is not a president. He is a test
. A test of
our courage, our determination, our faith in democracy.
And yet, despite everything, I still believe in America. Because
I believe in those who refuse to submit. In those who, despite their
fear, dare to say no.
Because democracy is
us
.
We are the last generation that can save American democracy
. And the first that will have to live with the consequences if
we fail.
The Call to Action
It’s time to choose. To fight. To vote. To resist.
Because if we don’t, who will
?
